| Getting around
Luxor is easy as transport is readily available 24 hours per day. There
is a constant supply of service cars and taxis at your disposal and many
of the places you want to get to will actually be within walking distance
of where you might be staying. The River Nile lies between Luxor's two halves
but getting across the river is not difficult as the ferry has a 24 hour
service. For speed there are motor boats and for pleasure you might like
to take an evening sail on a felucca. Traffic on the East Bank can be quite
heavy but the West Bank and ideal for bicycle riding and you can rent a
cycle easily. Trains run to Cairo and Aswan on a regular basis and timetables
have been given so that you can plan your journey. |
